“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step…“

Today, the house sale was concluded my companion Bertie and I have set off on our travels. It has not been the easiest of passages to get to the starting point, but we got there with faith and prayers. Thank you.

In Matthew 14 : 22-36, Jesus performs the miracle of walking on the water. Peter replied and said “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water”. So He said, “Come”. And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

It took faith for Peter to step out of the boat, He had his assurance from the Lord and he walked on the water! v 30 says “But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “ Lord, save me ! “

A couple of chapters later in Matthew 17 :20  Jesus says “ if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Peter’s faith allowed him to actually be bold, step out and walk on the sea in his attempt to reach out to Jesus, only taking his eye’s off Jesus by “seeing that the wind was boisterous“ let fear and unbelief in.

Let us then , as written in the letter to Hebrews 12:1:2  ”let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

God bless, in Jesus mighty name.

Amen
