Matthew 10 : 8
Today, I had been asked by a friend if I could assist them. They had an elderly friend whom they were becoming increasingly concerned about their health, he had explained that his elderly lady friend had ill health and had also started to faint quite often which was obviously very dangerous and alarming. She was pretty well restricted to the house as fear took over once she left her front door.
He politely requested that we take her to a Healing meeting in Middleton as he thought it would be good for her . I was happy to help.
I suggested that we should both be praying for the lady over the weekend for the situation and that nothing would stand in the way of the lady attending.
My friend explained that she would need assistance walking and was very slow.
We picked her up at the prearranged time. I was excited about the prospect of seeing what Jesus was going to do. We chatted along the way, she told us about many ailments, high blood pressure and diabetes among others. She was cheerful and pleasant but I could sense a little nervous too. So I gently told her the format of today’s meeting.
That it starts with a teaching from the Holy Bible, the Word of God, about Jesus the healer. Where the Pastor speaks of what Jesus did then is available to us today. Many attend a church today without accessing the things that the Lord Jesus Christ has for us.
In thee Holy Bible Jesus says in John 14:12-14 “Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
The word of God, believe it, confess it . Use it.
Smith Wigglesworth once said, Dare to believe, then command!
When we got there, it was necessary to stop at the rear door as there is a disabled access to the meeting instead of the stairs. I helped the lady across the road, on and off the chair and into the meeting. I could tell by her pace and her grip how much she relied on the support.
The Pastor delivered a wonderful message from Luke 13 and Romans 8, carving out like a skilled surgeon the Word of God, and delivering it to the surrounding believers, hungry for the truth.
Doctors give you facts, the Bible gives you truth.
After the message, it is an opportunity to respond , to receive prayer. The lady stood up and received prayer.
As we were about to set off , the lady walked past, unattended, at a pace that was not possible previously, when we got to the car, she talked all the way back of how great that she felt, there was no negativity or mention of ailments like on the way there.
Miracles follow Obedience.
My friend was blessed that he saw his friend improve dramatically. But he had stepped out in faith by inviting her, encouraging her to attend. Don’t we all want our friends, families, neighbours and work colleagues to have what God has for them.
The lady was blessed because she stepped out in faith. This was a courageous act on her part, many people never receive what God has for them because they don’t step up or in, or just don’t know.
The lady rang my friend late this afternoon, excitedly, to tell him that that she had made it out to the bin, unaided, without even her walking stick.
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord.
