Valley of the Saints
I’m nearly ready to start my Bible reading on Monday, so I’m also trying to visit a few local places in Brittany in between. There is plenty to see and do here in only a short drive away. So today we went to a place called “the Valley of the Saints“ in Carnoet, less than 10 miles away. It had been recommended by both my friend, the owner of the cottage where I am stopping (whose Birthday it is today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDITH XXX) and the retired fireman, John, so off we went .
Wow, it really is unique! It’s not a valley to start off with , its on a hill , and its absolutely covered with gargantuan granite statues of Frances many Saints. These represent the many monks that traveled from Cornwall, Wales and Ireland to bring Christianity to Brittany. There’s a moat and a 16th century chapel and over 50 of these giant stone carvings. The majority are modern and the idea was conceived by sculptor Philippe Abjean. There are plenty that I have heard of like St Malo, St Gildas, St Hernan and plenty that I haven’t. There is a real bizarreness about it all, but also something rather comforting. That Christianity is being continued in Art on a hill! I may come back again at another time. Bertie seemed to enjoy pottering about around the stones and so did I.
Join me as I read the Bible
As many of you are aware, I am about to commence a study through the whole Bible on Monday 13th of November. For 11 weeks you are all invited to join in alongside. It will take approximately 1 hour per day for 6 days per week. We are taking Saturdays off, its part of Gods command so 6 hours per week, that’s all!
At present I am getting myself prepared with additional literature and dvds/cds, some that I will use and some that I may not. All that is really required from yourselves is to have your Bible at hand over the course of the day.
The Holy Bible is the most precious, important book ever written. It is Gods divine instruction to man. It is everything needed to live in faith on this earth, it is our guidance, our comfort, our correction and direction. It is the truth about the truth. In it God reveals the truth, the way and the life. The only way to salvation is through His Son Jesus Christ and eternal life and how sin entered the world and the only propitiation for sin is the Lord Jesus.

All of these things are there for you. They are free, there is no need to pay a priest or a church. Get others to pray on your behalf, they are all for the individual. Please carry on attending your church and carrying out your duties along the way. If you are not in a church, we shall soon be posting how to find a reputable one near you.
Imagine a land, far, far away which can only be reached by going across an enormous ocean. There are no shortcuts. You have to travel over the sea and it’s a long voyage, but, you have heard from others of how hope, faith, the grace of God, the redemption of sins through the Lord Jesus Christ are bountiful in this land. You’ve seen people who have their directions in life completely changed after visiting this land. God speaks to His people in this land!!! Everybody who has been to this land, their lives transformed only want to go back to this land. Far, far away, again and again and all they want to do whilst here is share with others about the Glory of God. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and where to find it . Don’t YOU want to go there?
Well you can, its all in the Bible , the land is the Bible. And we are going to sail across the seas of the written Word of God in quite a straight line. Through the laws, promises, covenants, history, wisdom, poetry and prophesies. The Gospels and epistles and the book of revelation and find intertwined the story from the beginning of Gods plan for mankind and the redemption through the Lord Jesus Christ.
