Direct my steps by Your word
Yesterday I had shared a little about the coordination between ‘hearing the word, and doing the word’. More specifically from the book of James 1:22 ‘be doers of the word and not just hearers only’. Well today following on from that, I just want to give God thanks and all the glory, for what He has done, what He is doing and what He will be doing in the near future.
Yesterday afternoon I had a lengthy phone call with a dear brother in Christ. He is someone whom I share my blessings and my troubles with at times and we often study the scriptures together. He is travelling over here soon to spend a week here which we are both looking forward to.
Part of our conversation was that he was saying how blessed I had been during the last week with the Lords protection over me and the speed that the problem of me finding a suspect lump was dealt with, hallelujah! It was, with His divine protection and guidance, from finding the anomaly on Friday. Results by Wednesday, that it left me able to fully concentrate on the now, and what is next. Praise the Lord. I am not just blessed by His protection, I am blessed by His provision. Where I am stopping at present is a direct result of His provision in my life. The lovely lady whose house this is, is a Proverbs 31 lady, and of that, I am assured. If I was not saved by His grace, by His mercy, I would not be here.
Our conversation ended with my friend enquiring then about how was the planning for the potential mission trip to Nepal going? I replied that I was waiting for a response from my son Ben to see if some provisional dates I had sent him for looking after Bertie my dog and that it was in ‘God’s hands’. I quoted from Proverbs 16:3 that I had “committed my works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established’ and Proverbs 3:6 says “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” We said goodbye.
As I pressed the button to end the call, my phone went Beep, Beep. I received a text message from my son Ben to say that the dates were fine with them! I Praise the Lord for His magnificent timing. I rang my friend back within 20 seconds to say what had just happened directly after us talking. This is something that myself and Pastor Bhim and his wife and his church have been praying for constantly for over a year now for. Praise God.
So today I have great pleasure in announcing that for 6 weeks in the New Year, I shall be in Nepal to link up with my good friend and brother in Christ, Pastor Bhim. We will be going out on mission to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in some far regions of Nepal and I trust God will provide the opportunities for His word to be shared. I look forward to the opportunity to be of service in any capacity that the Lord sees in His church in Nepal, or His orphanage that Pastor Bhim runs.
I went to a car boot type sale and there was 2 things that I was thinking of. With my friend coming over to stay, it was likely that I would need extra blankets. But there would be no chance of getting anything like that, cheaply or during winter and I was wondering after yesterday how I can stop other dogs picking on Bertie?
Well, Praise the Lord, first thing I see at the first stall, warm knitted blankets for a fair price and then later a security type vest for Bertie. It may not stop other dog’s having a go at him, but he looks tougher!
God Bless. x
